Congrats to my winner- The Bookworm!
My life as a mom is mainly made up of the three following activities: doing lots and lots of laundry, hanging out at the Children's Museum, and trying to get my underweight, picky toddler son to eat. From the moment he gets up in the morning until he goes to bed at night, my husband and I are trying to come up with ways of getting him to actually eat some food. And that's for the foods he likes- so can you imagine what it's like to try to get him to eat vegetables?
We've been big fans of Stonyfield YoBaby yogurt for a long time now, so I was really excited when I found out that we were going to be able to test out the new Stonyfield YoBaby 3-in-1 meals. I got my coupons in the mail and set off on my search for the meals in the stores near me. And, I had no luck on this, since I live in the city and most stores near me don't carry a big variety of foods for babies and toddlers. Fortunately, this weekend we were out in the suburbs and drove past a Whole Foods, and they did carry them! I have now discovered that there is a store locator option on the Stonyfield Farm website, so check there before you go in search of these.
We picked up one of each variety- peach&squash, pear&green bean, and apple&sweet potato. At the next mealtime, we opened one up and fed it to Ethan, and he ate it and liked it! The fruit and vegetables are in the form of a puree at the bottom of the yogurt, it's like your typical fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt, but with both vegetables and fruit. As with all Stonyfield products, these 3-in-1 meals are all natural and certified organic. I tasted a bit of the meals myself, and they were very yummy- you'd never know there were veggies in them!
The 3-in-1 meals come in 6 ounce cups, so it might be more than a baby can eat in one sitting, but it was the perfect size for a meal for our 2-year-old. Each cup has more than a 1/3rd of a toddler’s daily protein and calcium needs, as well as other essential nutrients like Zinc, Vitamin A and Vitamin D. Ethan liked all three of the flavors that the meals come in, and it was so easy to get him to eat them, so I'm sold on this idea! Fortunately for me, there's a new Whole Foods opening up today closer to our home, so I'll be able to buy these meals more easily.
