One of my best friends is an elementary school teacher, and every year I see her using her own money to buy school supplies for her classroom. A lot of her own money, and she's not that well-paid to begin with. So I was not surprised to see the statistic that (in 2001), teachers spent about $500 of their own money on school supplies.
Expo is helping out with this problem. During December, for every pack of Expo dry erase markers that is purchased, Expo will donate one marker to a school in need (up to 100,000 markers). Even if you don't need dry erase markers for your home, think about picking up a pack and donating it to your kid's school. That way the teacher gets helped out even more!
