Raising a Father- a new book

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Raising a Father. All opinions are 100% mine.

As I write this post, my amazing husband is sitting in our son's room, reading toddler books with our son, and holding our baby daughter. He does this all willingly, after working for 32 of the last 36 hours at his very demanding job. His patience and his dedication to our family overwhelms me sometimes.  Especially since his method of fathering is not modeled after anything he saw in life growing up- when he was young his dad's job was to  go to work and make money to provide for the family. The end. His dad was and is a great man, but things were different at that time and in their culture. So the involvement that my husband shows in our family never ceases to amaze me.

Dads have a hard job in today's world. They work hard to provide for their families and then they come home and do so much of the housework and childcare as well. I know that my husband's calming presence on me and the kids is the only thing that gets us through some days.  Because of this, I am very interested in reading a new book that deals with the topic of fatherhood- Raising a Father.  This book tells the story of Arjun Sen, a busy man who worked in the corporate world, and what happened when he suddenly realized that he didn't know his daughter. Arjun took the extraordinary step of leaving his job to start a home-based consulting company, so that he could spend time with his daughter and truly get to know her as a person.  What an amazing dad!

Here's a short video to introduce the book- I challenge you to watch it and not get teary-eyed.
