Daniel and I have the same conversation at least once per week. One of us will make a comment about how nice it would be to get out for a few hours, just the two of us. Then the other will complain about the fact that we don't really know who is a) qualified to watch our kids and b) lives near us. We usually end up giving up on the idea and waiting several months until one of our sets of parents comes to visit.
I've seen Care.com advertised before, and I think it looks like a wonderful idea. It's very simple- you put in your zipcode, then you can either post a job listing with your specific needs, or you can search care providers who match what you're looking for. You can also request free background checks, view photos, videos, references and more. I love this idea! And Care.com isn't just for child care, you can also search for special needs, tutoring, senior care, pet care and housekeeping.
Normally you can access basic profiles for free and pay for premium memberships which allow you to access all caregivers and background checks. BUT- this coming weekend, March 19-21, everyone can use the resources for free. So visit then to search for a caregiver, post a job and get contact information. I'm so excited- I'm definitely planning to try the site out!
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post and received no product for review- just passing on some information that I received and wanted to share with you!
