Back when I was pregnant with Ethan, Daniel and I went out for a fancy dinner. Normally when I have a nice dinner, I like to have a glass of wine to accompany it, but obviously that wasn't an option for this meal. When I looked over the menu for alternatives, the DRY Sodas listed there caught my eye. I ordered a Rhubarb soda and loved it! Since then I've had DRY Soda a few times and have always enjoyed the experience. So I was happy to get the chance to review DRY Soda for this blog.
Here's some information on Dry Soda:
Seattle-based DRY Soda Co. offers today’s consumer a modern alternative in refreshment – a line of all-natural sodas, flavored with fruit, flower and herb extracts and sweetened with a small amount of pure cane sugar. Now available in seven flavors – Cucumber, Juniper Berry, Kumquat, Lavender, Lemongrass, Rhubarb and Vanilla Bean – each twelve-ounce bottle of DRY Soda contains just 45-70 calories and 14-19 grams of sugar. DRY’s award winning design, distinctive flavor profiles and clean finish make it the ideal soda to sip on its own, pair with a great meal or mix into a top-shelf cocktailHurray, another local company!
Both Daniel and I really like DRY Soda in all the varieties that we have tried- which would be everything except Juniper Berry, which we haven't sampled yet. I was suspicious of Cucumber before tasting it- that just sounded too weird to be good, but it's turned out to be one of my favorite flavors. All the varieties are very light- not too sweet, but still very tasty and very drinkable.
Seattleites- if you're interested, you can drop by DRY Soda's tasting room in Pioneer Square and try some of this wonderful soda for yourself! For everyone else-if you'd like to pick up some DRY Soda at the store, here's the website that shows where it's available. It really is a nice alternative to more traditional sodas and would be a wonderful thing to have at a dinner party. You can even use the handy tools at the DRY website to figure out what foods pair best with which flavors, see flavor profiles or to find cocktail recipes using DRY. Yesterday I mixed the cucumber flavor soda with white wine, which made the perfect refreshing and also relaxing drink to end my busy day.
So, if you're ready for a delicious new drink to add to your meal, check out DRY Soda! I think you'll like what you taste.
Disclosure: I received a sample pack of soda to taste for myself (and I even shared some with Daniel). I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
