Congrats to my winner: laura20v
It's cold and rainy here in Seattle today- but here inside my condo we're pretending we're on a tropical vacation! That's because we're listening to a new CD that the kids received- Didi Pop Goes to Hawaii! Here's some information on this CD, from a press release that I received:
Fast becoming one of L.A.’s hottest kids’ musicians, Deborah Poppink – aka DidiPop – invites families to join her on a vacation to Maui with her new CD, DidiPop Goes to Hawaii. Allowing her own distinctive artistry to blossom in the gentle atmosphere of the tropical Hawaiian Islands, DidiPop encourages kids and their caregivers to joyfully dance, sing, laugh, and feel the “Aloha Spirit” while picking up some good information about the Hawaiian alphabet, mangos and the hula!We had never listened to Didi Pop before receiving this CD, but now we're big fans! Ethan keeps asking to listen to his Hawaii CD, and the whole family has been enjoying the virtual vacation that comes from listening to this album. Didi Pop has a great voice, which makes listening to the CD a pleasure. The ukulele music and the fun Hawaiian-inspired lyrics really do make you feel like you're lying on a beach on Maui and enjoying the sunshine and surf. And you'll learn a lot of new Hawaiian words while listening to this CD as well, so you'll be prepared for your next Hawaiian trip!
Co-produced by Deborah Poppink and renowned indie producer/musician Brad Jones (Jill Sobule, Josh Rouse) and recorded with a first-rate team of Nashville musicians, DidiPop Goes to Hawaii is a musical travelogue inspired by Deborah’s actual visits to the Aloha State with her own family. The album captures every subtle nuance of their Hawaiian adventures, from the excitement of the plane ride (“Wowie Gazowi”) to enjoying the lovely beaches (“Kapalua Bay”) to riding the steam train around Maui (“Sugar Cane Train”), to reading road signs and trying to pronounce the words (“The Hawaiian Alphabet Song”).
Ethan's favorite song was definitely the "Sugar Cane Train" song, since he's a big train fan, while my favorite was the last song on the album, a sweet song called "Going Home". I think you'll like this CD as much as we did- and if you're looking for a new addition to your child's music library, this would be a great choice! The CD is available now for pre-order at Didi Pop's website.
