Congrats to my winner: jakiesmom
It's beginning to sound a lot like Christmas! At least it is in my house, thanks to our newest CD- Ben Rudnick & Friends- It's Santa Claus! I actually received this CD back in October, but refused to play it until the calendar said November. But now it's November and the weather is looking a lot like winter, so it was time. Here's a bit about Ben Rudnick & Friends and It's Santa Claus, from a press release that I received:
It's Santa Claus has all the classic Christmas songs that belong on an album- including Jingle Bells, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Let It Snow, Frosty the Snowman, Here Comes Santa Claus, Auld Lang Syne and Greensleeves. When I put the music on for the first time, I expected it to be cutesy or childish (you know what I mean, we've ALL heard that type of Christmas album!), but I was totally wrong! The songs are all really well done with great vocals and instruments. I particularly love their use of saxophone on the songs. Honestly, if I throw a Christmas party this year or have friends over near the holiday, this is a CD that I will have playing in the background. It's a CD that's kid-friendly, for sure, but it's by no means childish. Just lots of fun and great music to get you in the Christmas mood.Ben Rudnick & Friends have been bringing families, music and fun together in their own, one-of-a-kind, “American Roots” style from their first CD release in 2000 to their tremendously acclaimed 2009 album, A Frog Named Sam, to this year’s celebration of the band’s 10th anniversary. With countless awards and kudos to their credit, including five Parents’ Choice Awards, Ben Rudnick & Friends focus on providing a common ground where all family members can, without compromise, enjoy a shared musical experience.
Since the band’s creation back in 2000, Ben Rudnick & Friends have wrapped up each busy year by playing December holiday shows -- taking the spirit of the season and turning it into fun energy. And every year they’ve been asked, “Do you guys have a holiday CD?” The answer has always been “no,” until now. Ben and the band have taken their trademark “fun for all” attitude and finally recorded the oft-requested holiday CD.
