Book review: Double Shot

Back in August I read my first book by Erynn Mangum, a book called Latte Daze. I totally fell in love with this author's writing, and with the characters in the book. So I was happy when the next book in this series came out, and requested to review it right away! This new book is called Double Shot, and it's the third book in the Maya Davis series.

Double Shot follows the continuing adventures of Maya, lover of coffee and chocolate, as she goes from being a girlfriend to a fiancee and plans a wedding to her beloved Jack. I laughed at many of the wedding planning scenes- I could definitely relate to Maya's feelings of being overwhelmed and out of her element at all of the bridal planning!  This book is really a great read- the characters are believable and multi-dimensional and fun, and it was great to catch up on all their continuing adventures.  My only point of complaint with the book was Maya's confusion over whether or not to move to Seattle- how could anyone ever not want to live in Seattle! :)

This book, like the others in the Maya Davis series, is written for the young adult audience, but I (in my early 30s) still really liked it a lot.  The author has a gift for writing Christian novels that are realistic, but still full of faith and scripture.
