Now that my kids are getting older, I'm looking for ways to start introducing them to the idea of charity and helping others out. Yesterday I learned about a great contest that's going on now from The Company Store- it combines fun, creativity and helping others out all at once- I love this idea!
The Company Store has an ongoing program called Buy One, Give One, where for every comforter that is purchased, one is given to a homeless child. You can read more about that program here. Now The Company Store has decided to let children (ages 12 and under) help out from home, by submitting a design to the Kids' Design Contest. Here's more info:
Is your child a future artist? Does he or she like to help others? The Kids' Design Contest is geared at inspiring creativity while supporting art education and charitable work among America's youth.Rules:
All it takes is submitting an original design for a comforter. If that design gets the most votes on Facebook, we'll use it on the comforters we donate to homeless kids across the country. And the three designers with the most votes win Company Kids gift cards.
Let your kids use their creativity to help others. Enter them into the contest and start designing!
- open to kids 12 years old and younger
- designs must be handmade - use paint, pencils, markers, etc.
- use six colors or less
- please submit images in .jpg, .gif, or .png formats
- must comply with official rules
You can see the full list of rules at this link. The top design will both be featured on donated comforters and will win a $500 Company Kids gift card. Second and third place designs will win a $200 and $100 Company Kids gift card, respectively. Designs can be submitted at The Company Store Facebook page. Good luck, and happy designing!
