A few weeks back we received a copy of a new DVD from Fox Home Entertainment called Strawberry Shortcake: Puttin' On The Glitz. In case you missed my previous post about this movie, here's the summary, from its website:
Fabulous new fashions, sparkling musical ‘Glamicures’ and delightful new ‘Do’s” have Strawberry and her friends ‘Puttin’ on the Glitz’! But, all that dazzles quickly unravels with misunderstanding… until the girls find creative and kind ways to be honest with their feelings… and with their friends. It’s heart-to-heart makeover magic… as the girls learn that nothing looks as beautiful as friendship feels!Typically, we review movies pretty quickly after they arrive at our house. But in this case, my 3 1/2 year old son decided that he was not interested in the DVD, thanks to its pink cover, and put up a protest. Much to the disappointment of my almost-2-year-old daughter, who kept carrying around the DVD and staring at the pictures of Strawberry Shortcake and her friends. Fortunately for Vivian, I eventually convinced Ethan to give the movie a try, and we sat down to watch.
You know what? Ethan loved the movie. Both he and Vivian sat on the couch and watched the entire DVD and wanted to watch it again when it was done. I liked the stories as well, and thought they had a great message of friendship.
If there's a child in your life who loves Strawberry Shortcake, definitely check this movie out! It's available now, and right now you can pick it up for less than $8, over at the Fox website. Happy movie watching!
Disclosure: I received a copy of this movie to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
