Women of Faith- Over the Top in Seattle!

This past weekend, a friend and I had the great good fortune to attend the Women of Faith conference here in Seattle. I've been to two other Women of Faith events, and knew that we were in for a great time.  And I was not disappointed! This year, the theme of the West Coast Women of Faith events was Over the Top. And indeed it was!

Over the two days of the event, we got to hear from so many talented speakers and musicians. We heard from Andy Andrews, Patsy Clairmont, Marilyn Meberg, Lisa Whelchel, Sandi Patty, Katharine Johnson and Brenda Warner.  And along with those amazing speakers, we also had the great music of Selah and Mandisa.  Everyone shared so openly and from their hearts and every single person that spoke shared words that I really needed to hear. We laughed (a lot), cried (a bit), were encouraged and reminded of God's love. We were motivated to keep serving and keep loving.  We worshiped in an arena with 5000 other women- that's such an incredible experience.

This has been a challenging year for both myself and the friend that went along to the event with me.  We walked away from Key Arena on Saturday night feeling a little emotionally worn out, since there's a lot to take in at a Women of Faith event, but both of us were also feeling that we couldn't possibly have spent our weekend in any more positive way.

If you ever have the opportunity to attend a Women of Faith event, I highly, highly encourage you to round up some friends and go.  We all need these times to worship with other women and to be encouraged and fed spiritually.  I'm already hoping to be able to attend next year down in Portland- check the calendar to see if Women of Faith is coming to a city near you in 2012!

Disclosure: I received two tickets to this Women of Faith event, thanks to the nice people at Booksneeze. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

I was there too, and it was awesome! My sister-in-law enjoyed it so much. I just wish that somehow all the bloggers could have gotten together. You were one of the ones I thought about!
