One of the most fun and unusual activities that I participated on during the trip was an outing with BrewCycle Portland!
This outing was an absolute hoot! We spent several hours riding (very slowly- top speed is something like 5 mph) around Portland. People stared and waved as we rode from one brewery to the next. We visited three breweries on our trip- the great thing about the BrewCycle tour is that you can customize the outing. If you want to visit a specific brewery- just add it to the itinerary! If you're like me and are from out of town and don't know where to go, the friendly BrewCycle driver is always happy to make a suggestion.
The Brewcycle is a fifteen-person, 100% green, party machine! How do you get on this amazing bike?
Grab a couple of friends (up to 15) and decide on a time frame you’d like to ride. Give us a call or send an email to check availability. We rent by seat and group smaller numbers together to have the bike as full as possible! For a two hour tour, week days $20 per seat, Friday and Saturday $25 per seat. Also available to rent the entire bike by the hour for $150 per hour week days and $170 per hour Fridays and Saturdays.
Onboard, we have a great sound system to rock out to your favorite tunes and plenty of room for coolers to bring on your favorite non alcoholic beverages to keep hydrated (this is a biking workout!).
Be prepared to experience your favorite breweries in a whole new way! Combining Portland’s love of handcrafted beer and biking, the BrewCycle will take you, as fast as you can pedal, to your next ice cold brew!
I have to admit, I can't speak for how hard the BrewCycle was to pedal, because I'm only 5 feet and couldn't reach the pedals (if you're under 5'4", you're likely going to have a hard time pedaling). Fortunately, the BrewCycle has a bench on the back and several non-pedaling seats along the side. The other participants looked like they were earning their beers though- I appreciate all their hard work!
The minimum age for the BrewCycle tour is 21 (since you are visiting breweries). I think this would be a great option for any group and it's a great way to see part of Portland.
Disclosure: I received complimentary tickets for this outing as part of a press trip. Thanks to Richmond PR and Brewcycle Portland for a great time!
