Speak up or keep your mouth shut? Now you can know!I definitely am an over-communicator, so I think I benefited most from the "when not to talk" parts of this book. The author does a great job of presenting different communication challenges in simple ways, with lots of examples from his own life and his counseling practice. He also includes lots of examples from the Bible and lots of scripture to support the ideas that he presents in this book. It's a book that encourages patience, love for others, honesty and standing strong for your faith.

I enjoyed reading this book and it definitely was a good reminder for me to be aware of what and how I'm saying things when I talk to people. And it was a great reminder that I don't actually have to always say everything I'm thinking. When to Speak Up and When to Shut Up would be a particularly good one for teenagers to read, as they get ready to enter the adult world. But it has useful advice for everyone!
