Review: ProFlowers

It's 12/12/12 today- so we're smack dab in the middle of winter.  In Seattle that means a LOT of rain and a lot of grey skies. Oh, and it gets dark at 4 PM. So I try to make it a point to fill my home with lots of bright colors and things to take my mind off of the weather and the dark.  One of my favorite things to decorate with is fresh flowers.  Such an easy and relatively inexpensive way to cheer things up!

Recently I had the opportunity to work with ProFlowers on a review. As is frequently the case when I do reviews, the worst part of the whole thing was choosing what to review! So many pretty things- and even some yummy looking things too! They have gorgeous arrangements of lilies, roses, daisies, orchids... the list goes on and on. They also have gourmet food offerings and even gift baskets with bath products or wine! You can search by occasion, by type of flower or even see what's currently popular.

Even though I really love cut flowers, Daniel and I decided that we wanted something a little more permanent for our new home. After looking through the options and ruling out anything that might hurt our cats if they got too curious (many plants are toxic to cats- be aware before you buy!), we settled on a pretty camelia bonsai tree. Placing the order was easy, and a few days later this was sitting on my kitchen counter.

It came VERY safely packaged in a large box with tons of styrofoam.  Getting it out of the box was quite the effort and I ended up with lots of styrofoam pellets everywhere. Fortunately I have two preschoolers who thought picking it up was a blast!  The petals of the flowers did come off in the process, but the tree has lots of buds and I know it's going to be back in bloom soon.

So if you're looking to send flowers, plants or some other gift to the special person in your life- check out ProFlowers!
