Review: iPad 4 Case from The Snugg

Despite my best efforts, my husband remains unconvinced of the fact that I am in dire need of an iPad.  My kids also are campaigning for the addition of one to our house, after spending two glorious week's playing with my mom's iPad during her visit.  In addition to the kids' love of the iPad, I noticed something else during my mom's visit- she did not like the case that she had on it.  So when I got an email asking if I would like to review an iPad case, I again roped my mom into helping me with a review.  After browsing the site, I chose this Snugg iPad 4 case:
Pretty, isn't it! Here's what my mom had to say, after using the case for a while:

The cover is a beautiful brown, and the texture of the PU leather is pleasing to the touch, and I haven’t noticed any waterspotting or odor.  It does weigh in at around 12 oz., so unfortunately it adds a significant amount of weight to the already heavy device.

The iPad 4 fits perfectly, and the Velcro tab keeps it firmly in place.  The first few times I closed the cover, the “smart” feature didn’t work to shut off the iPad, but once I got the technique down, I haven’t had any further problems.  All the necessary connectors are accessible, although I found taking photos slightly awkward, as the front cover can only be partially folded back to leave the camera lens exposed.

It was also slightly difficult to use the volume button.

I found the two positions of the stand to be adequate for my needs -- comfortable for typing, and the elastic strap does make it more comfortable to hold the iPad for extended periods of time for reading in bed.

One slight quibble is that the edge of the case is flush with the edge of the screen, and this makes it difficult to tap on the areas of the screen right at the edge.  I also question how the case will hold up with long-term use, as it seems to have a fairly flimsy substance (cardboard?) between the outer and inner covering.

Overall, I’m very pleased with this case, and would gladly recommend it for purchase, especially as it is sold for a very reasonable price.

And here's how it looks in person:

So there you have it.
