Book review: Larry Gets Lost in Prehistoric Times

*Disclosure: We received a copy of this book to review for ourselves. No other compensation was received and all opinions posted here are ours and ours alone.

My kids have had the opportunity to read several books in the Larry Gets Lost series including our favorite, Larry Gets Lost in Seattle. These great books have fun illustrations and great rhymes that take your family out of your home and on a journey with Larry and Pete through the streets of Seattle (and other cities as well!).  According to a press release that I received, Larry has now visited Seattle, New York, Boston, Alaska, Texas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco and the Twin Cities and will be heading to Washington D.C. and Philadelphia soon. So keep an eye out for those books!  We recently received one of the newest books in the Larry series- Larry Gets Lost in Prehistoric Times! Here's a bit about this book, from its press release:

In Larry the lovable pup's latest adventure, he falls asleep at home next to Pete (who is reading a book about dinosaurs) and travels back in time, waking up in the pre-historic era! Starting with dinosaurs, where he encounters some big (the Tyrannosaurus Rex and Tricerotops), and others small (the Iberomesornis), he tumbles forward to the Ice Ages where he meets a Wooly Mammoth, and on to the cavemen of the Stone Age. But will he ever find his way back to his best friend Pete and the family again?

Ethan and Vivian love this book as much as they have any of the other Larry books that they've read.  All three of us had a fun time looking through the books and learning about the dinosaurs that Larry encounters on his trip. I definitely learned some new dinosaur names and facts from this book!  If you have a dinosaur fan in your family, don't miss this book! It's available for pre-order now from the usual book-buying places and will be released on August 20, 2013.
