Book review: Monkey World- the Thunderbolt Express

*Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

My 6-year-old son, Ethan, is a big fan of many things, but two of the things he's especially fond of are monkeys and trains.  So he was really excited to get a new book that's coming out from Sasquatch Press called Monkey World- The Thunderbolt Express! Here's a bit about this new book, from the Sasquatch Press website:

Monkey World is the setting for this magical adventure that involves a flying train and a cast of funky monkeys dressed in suits, suspenders, and bowler hats.  When the station master calls "all aboard!," readers are invited to go on a magical train ride with Jango Jenkins and his Dixieland Band, Oscar the magician and Miss Trixie and her pug dog Napoleon. This pleasant journey soon goes haywire. Napoleon the pug goes missing! The train runs out of tracks! And, the handle on the train brake is broken! How will the monkeys find a way out of this pickle?

This is a really fun book with great illustrations. The story moves along quickly and you almost feel like you're on the adventure with the monkeys! Ethan thinks this is a great book and asks to read it often.  If you have a monkey or train fan in your family- check out this fun new book from Matthew Porter! It will be available in September 2013.
