Book review: The 50 Fridays Marriage Challenge

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from Howard Books to review for myself. All opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

Thanks to the piles and piles of reading that I need to do for grad school, I haven't been reading a lot of other books. But occasionally I learn about one that sounds irresistable and I add it to my reading pile. Recently one of those books came along, and I'm so glad that it did! It's called The 50 Fridays Marriage Challenge and here's a bit about it, from the publisher's website:
Transform your marriage with this revitalizing relationship guide that challenges couples to answer important questions together and grow in mutual understanding. In our modern, fast-paced society, it is easy for couples to drift apart and suddenly find their marriages in need of serious help. If this sounds familiar, then Pastor Jeff Helton and his wife Lora have a challenge for you: sit down once a week with your spouse to answer a question together. It could be something as simple as “What makes you laugh out loud?” or as deep and challenging as “If you had one day left on earth, what would you say to your spouse?” or “Are you satisfied with our level of physical intimacy?”
My favorite thing about this book is that it is really approachable and unintimidating. The questions are presented along with a page or two of discussion- often stories from the authors lives and marriage or suggestions for ways to discuss the question.  The questions are designed to make you take a real look at your relationship, but in a positive way that leads to more appreciation of each other and a deeper intimacy.

We haven't had a chance to start going through the questions yet, but I cannot wait to start! Spending time together and building a stronger marriage is so important to us- especially in this season of multiple school and activity schedules and much busyness. If you're looking for a tool to help you build a stronger, more intimate marriage, be sure to check out this great new book!
