Pledge to help Read for the Record!

My son, Ethan, started Kindergarten last week. We prepared in many ways, but one of the biggest things we did (and have been doing for years) is reading together. It is great fun as family time and helps him prepare to read and love books as well!

Jumpstart, is a national non-profit. Their mission is to have "every child in American enter kindergarten prepared to succeed." Their biggest event of the year is called Read for the Record, where people across the country Pledge to read the same book on the same day.
Last year, more than 2.3 million people across the world joined in to “Read for the Record.” This year, I want to be part of the group that breaks that record.
October 3rd is the one day where millions of people across the world sit down and pledge to read for their kids to support JumpStart’s mission to work towards the day that every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed.
The Program has raised more than $8 million dollars for early education programs.
This year’s book is the highly acclaimed “Otis” by Loren Long. Take the Pledge to Read with your kids, and let me know how YOU plan on participating with your family!
Join me and millions of people across the world to raise awareness and help America’s kids succeed!
