Car rides are always interesting when my kids are in the car. Particularly when my son, Ethan, is sitting in his carseat in the row behind me. Because he never, ever stops talking. And when he's talking, he's usually asking questions. And I don't always know the answers. So when I found out about a new book meant especially for the 4-6 year old age group (I have a 4 year old and a 6 year old!), I immediately asked to review it. The book is from Time for Kids and is called X Why Z? Here's a bit about it, from a press release that I received:
From animals to plants, from the human body to history, the new book X-Why-Z helps children ages four to six better understand the world they live in. Presented by Time Home Entertainment Inc. and the editors of TIME For Kids, X-Why-Z (Time Home Entertainment Inc.; $14.95) is on sale now and available at www.timeforkids.com/xwhyz and at retailers nationwide. My kids love this book. I put it in our living room and they've been carrying it around and asking me to read to them from it. I love how simply the questions are asked and answered, in a way that my kids can understand. The questions are ones that they really do ask, like "why do the trees change colors" and "why do I have to eat vegetables?" The questions are accompanied by eye-catching graphics. And each page has just a few questions, so we can read as much or as little as we have time for.
If you have a curious little one, this is a great way to help them understand the world around them!
