We're heading speedily into the Christmas season here on my blog. I'm okay with that, now that it's November and the days are turning colder. Christmas is especially fun these days with my kids at 6 and 4 years old. They're still so excited by all the lights and activities and simple gifts. It's fun to see everything through their eyes.
One new tradition that we're adding this year is reading of an absolutely beautiful book called The Magic Christmas Key. Here's a bit about this book, from its website:
Andy believes in Christmas, and encouraged by his grandfather, begins a marvelous adventure that starts with the gift of Santa's Magic Key. His papa asks Andy to keep the key safe. But Andy, in spite of good intentions, allows the Magic Key to get into the hands of others. The fun loving chaos that ensues requires Andy to be honest and brave, leading him to Santa Claus himself. Andy learns that indeed, All Things Are Possible When You Believe. This book is a little longer than most that I read with my kids, but it was so worth it. Every page is filled with the sweet story and gorgeous, truly life-like illustrations. My kids sat with wide eyes while I turned the pages. Vivian had to hold on to the beautiful pewter key that comes along with the book. She was excited every time the key showed up in the pictures (which was often), because she had one just like what we were reading about in the book. This is a really special book. After we read it the first time, I told Vivian that we needed to put it with our Christmas things and she responded "yes, we have to read this again and again at Christmas!" I love fun new traditions!
And I have good news- one lucky reader will be able to start her/his own Christmas tradition with a copy of this book! Enter at the Rafflecopter widget below.
