Book review: Love is me buying you this book.

*Disclosure: I received this book to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

It was a gloomy January afternoon when I walked to the mailbox and pulled out a small package. Upon returning to the house and opening the package, a big smile formed across my face. The reason for this smile was the little book contained inside the package, a book entitled Love is me buying you this book., by Waldo Pancake.  Here's a tiny bit about it, from a press release that I received:

Love Is Me Buying You This Book is the hilarious new collection of ways to tell your special someone you love them, from acclaimed visual and print artist Waldo Pancake.
Affectionate yet witty, this beautifully designed little book is perfect for those who are seeking a special gift for their spouse, friend, or lover—without the mush.
In Waldo Pancake’s sarcastic, to-the-point and laugh-out-loud form, the sentiments on each page of Love Is Me Buying You This Book include brutally charming witticisms:
·       Hate is me not buying you this book.
·       You had me at whatever it was you just said.
·       When I put my arm around you, sometimes it’s to rest my arm.
·       You bring out the best in me.*
o    *Worst also might be brought out.

While reading through the book I laughed, I smiled, and I saw lots of reality in the pages as well. Waldo Pancake captures the reality of love with ideas like "They should make a film about our life together. Minus the watching-TV-on-the-sofa-most-of-the-time bit."  I read that to Daniel while we sat on the couch together, watching TV.

This is an adorable and funny little book that is sure to make your loved one smile.  Perfect Valentine's Day gift! You can get more information on purchasing it at this link
